Yes I am a spoiled brat when it comes to certain things, especially things that became normal in my routine. No I wasn’t angry at my maid, I found the situation amusing. I will keep an extra roll in the bathroom from now on, even if it ruins the decor.

They just mad they can’t afford a maid.

Nah, they were right, I should keep an extra toilet roll in the bathroom.

I don’t get why that angered so many, and I’ve never ever had a maid in my life, ever.

I could just fucking change the rolls myself. But I’m not used to it, I should be.

Our office cleaning person’s kid ate all of our office candy. Now we can't have any anymore. That's equally as trivial but it was an enormous scandal for about a week when we figured it out.

Nothing infuriates me more (okay, that’s a lie) than people who use the rest of the roll and then not replace it.

Who doesn’t keep an extra roll (or a bunch of extra rolls) in the bathroom? That’s what bathroom cabinets, under sink cabinets, over-toilet hutches, shelves, and such are for.

I don’t keep rolls in the bathroom, so that made a major part. Also I’m not used to changing them at my house. I should be, and I accept my failure.

I don’t think anyone was genuinely bothered by it but maybe a rewording was in order as it didn’t come across as you were amused.

You had a little box to one side of the toilet, could this recess not be used to put say a small wicker basket in with emergency consumables?

Kinja'd!!!

You by no means come across as a ‘spoiled brat’. Just have one or two things close to hand should you come into that situations again.

Have a drink and have a laugh about it and have a good evening okay. Cool.

I think you misunderstood. It’s not your attitude, it’s the lack of preparation. When you’re at the point where you can’t reach at least 4 rolls of toilet paper without your ass leaving the seat, you might as well be shitting on the floor. It’s like going to a brothel without a penicillin. Civilization runs on clean buttcracks and clear urinary tracts.

I should have reworded that, and I have emergency consumables but they are located outside of the bathroom because they are never that urgent. I don’t keep toilet rolls (changed that, now I do) because I’m not the one to change them, this was the first time it happened to me. Things will change.

I know, but as I’m not the one who changes the rolls, I just keep them in the laundry room (not anymore) where all the other cleaning products are.

I know, this was the first time this happened to me. Also, the way I worded that made it seem like I was about to punish the cleaning lady or some shit. I was just amused, she did nothing wrong.

Kinja'd!!!0

Nope. It’s kind of funny, turns out we had all been secretly blaming each other for it disappearing, but I ended up in the office alone for a week and realized it was still running out faster than I was eating it.

This kid also has some kind of fetish with peeing in the women's room after it's been cleaned, then not flushing. Gross, but still less traumatic than a bathroom devoid of toilet paper!

Kinja'd!!! My citroen won't start > smobgirl
09/10/2015 at 23:48

I think this kid’s fetish is a helluva of lot worse than my TP situation.

I just don’t understand how you’re a grown man and you’ve never changed your own toilet paper roll.

What happens if you get some food poisoning and run out at 2 a.m. when your maid isn’t there?

What happens if you’re hosting people over for dinner and you started out the evening with half a roll but someone gets a little too spendy with the squares and doesn’t realize there aren’t spare rolls in a cabinet somewhere until they’ve already pinched off a loaf?

But still, it all just goes back to... how have you never changed a roll yourself before?

Kinja'd!!! My citroen won't start > Xyl0c41n3
09/11/2015 at 00:01

Kinja'd!!!0

Yes, but never at my house, I know how to change the rolls, I just never had to do it.

At home the roll is always full, I’ve never seen it lower than 3/4 in. This is the first time it happens to me that I can remember.

Kinja'd!!! Xyl0c41n3 > My citroen won't start
09/11/2015 at 00:03

Kinja'd!!!4

...how? What is your maid doing with the 3/4 full rolls that she’s replacing with full rolls? Like... none of this makes any sort of sense.

Kinja'd!!! My citroen won't start > Xyl0c41n3
09/11/2015 at 00:05

Kinja'd!!!0

You mean the 1/4 of roll that is left? She uses them to line the dog’s pee thing or she chucks them away.

Kinja'd!!! Xyl0c41n3 > My citroen won't start
09/11/2015 at 00:07

Kinja'd!!!2

Ok, using them to deal with a pet, that makes sense, but throwing them away? Why? Wasteful. Like, dude, I like ya, man, but do you not see the fair amount of privilege and entitlement you’ve got going on here?

Kinja'd!!! My citroen won't start > Xyl0c41n3
09/11/2015 at 00:11

Kinja'd!!!0

Oh I do, I’ve got a maid that changes my fucking TP, there are people who don’t even have TP. But I don’t make her do this things, she always did them, even when she started working at home 5 years ago she already did that. I know this doesn’t make stuff better, but she doesn’t chuck them out the window, we recycle it.

Kinja'd!!! Frank Grimes > My citroen won't start

There needs to be some kind of ICBM launch procedure for a spare roll of toilet paper because otherwise I would just use the emrgency spare instead of getting more paper.

Kinja'd!!! My citroen won't start > Xyl0c41n3
09/11/2015 at 00:30

Kinja'd!!!0

I think I exaggerated a lot with the 1/4, that is still a lot of TP left, I think she puts new rolls on when the current ones seem to have only one more use left, we dont throw away 25% of out toilet paper, I just used a stupid number. Thing is, I have never seen them empty at home.

I keep toiletries and bathroom cleaning products, along with the appropriate scrubby brushes, sponges and gloves needed to clean the bathroom, under the sink. Oh, and also my cat’s pet shampoo. But I’ve got shelves for things like extra rolls of TP, some pretty baskets filled with extra hand towels, soaps, scrubs, and such elsewhere in the room. Bottom line: everything you might need in a bathroom, including replacements for all necessities, are actually in the bathroom. If I need something, it’s close at hand. If a guest needs something, they don’t have to worry about poking their head out the door and awkwardly asking, “hey, do you have any more ‘X’?”
